MY WORK ON THE PROJECT
After helping the team brainstorm the concept and central mechanics of the game, I was responsible for art direction on the project, as well as concepting, finalizing, and animating all of the characters present in the game.
I created a mood board to help guide myself and to assist others on visualizing the style of the game, and then got to work on creating characters. By the end of the 48-hour game jam I had fully created and animated a total of six characters. Looking back, some of the animations were definitely rushed, but overall I'm very happy with how everything came out. I learned a lot about working effectively under a short deadline, and it was a lot of fun to challenge myself to create a world that felt lived-in, mysterious, and atmospheric in such a brief amount of time.
I worked closely with design and engineering to get the characters and enemy implementations looking and feeling just right, and adapted on the fly to new demands placed on me and the other artists I managed during the duration of the two-day project.
